What We Believe

We believe that Jesus is our Creator in human form. That He died in our place for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe that Jesus is, as He claimed, ‘ The way, the truth and the life’ (John 14 v 6) and that no one can come into an eternal relationship with God except through Jesus, who sends His Holy Spirit to indwell all those who receive Him by faith.
It is only by God’s presence within us that we may gain the power, together with the other churches in Westerham, to ‘Know Jesus and Make Him known’.

Our Statement of Faith is summarised in the well known ‘Apostles Creed’:

'We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.'
